First night in the truck! Smoother than expected... Aside from getting closer than we'd like to a few greasy containers of veggy oil, it was comfortable sleeping (as truck bed sleeping goes.). Our morning was greeted by agreeable weather, and the only sunshine we got all day. Leanne's homemade granola, a few almost over-ripened bananas, and some bangin starbucks instant coffee held us over nicely for the five hours of driving until lunch. Nothin says Indian food like cornfields and rebel flags! Don't ask what inspired us, but an excellent pot of spicy indian-style stew became the first tailgate gastronomic experience of the trip. Say what you will... But it was damn good. (read more about that above).
Now, it's just after ten at night. We are wet. We are sitting in a hotel lobby. Too stay the night you ask? No. We'll be sleeping in the parking lot. However, we are scheming the best way to steal some continental breakfast from this place in the morning. I don't know if it's the surroundings or the company... Or both, but I'm lovin this so far.
